An Apple A Day

I remember as a child hearing the phrase, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. My mother used to say that to us three kids when we were feeling under the weather with either a cold or the flu.

The phrase, an apple a day keeps the doctor away is an old wive's tale however, I believe there is a lot of truth to this phrase and the reasoning behind it is because apples are full of vitamins, especially vitamins A and C. Basically, apples are good for you and by eating an apple a day you can prevent getting sick which means it keeps the doctor away.

Apples are also good for your dental health as well. Eating an apple can help keep your teeth clean and gets rid of bacteria. Have you ever rubbed your tongue across your teeth when you have just finished eating an apple. They feel squeaky clean.

Good advice. Eating an apple in the afternoon helps me avoid having to take a nap due to lack of energy!

Nice hub. I'm making apple and spinach every morning these days. Without the apple it would almost be undrinkable. Is one apple enough though?

Hey, Andy, thanks for the comment. I've never had apple and spinach and honestly, I don't know if one apple is enough.

Aman Sharma, thank you for your comment. I do agree with you that apples are healthy and give you energy. I only like the red apples. I don't like green ones at all.
