Bumble Bees

When you see a bumble bee in a cartoon or storybook, they always look so cute with the fat little tummys and their round little faces and their yellow and black striped body. However, don't let their cuteness fool you though. Bumble bees can sting.

A bumblebee will usually only sting you if he feels threatened or if someone is threatening his hive. To avoid getting stung by a bumble bee, don't act aggressively when you see one. Don't run. Don't make any sudden moves. If you see a bumble bee, don't swat at it with your bare hands. The best thing you can do is just back away slowly. Don't attract attention to yourself by screaming or shouting. Just back away slowly.

Some people have allergies to bees and bumble bees would be a part of that category. If you do happen to get stung by a bumble bee, I would advise to seek medical attention immediately.
