Buttercup Flowers

I think buttercup flowers are very pretty flowers. They are the brightest yellow colour. Buttercups are very small. They have a lot of petals on them.

Buttercups grow wild throughout Canada. You can usually find them growing in fields. I have seen several different fields with buttercups growing in them in British Columbia.

There is a little game that I used to play as a kid with buttercups. You take the buttercup flowers and place it up to your chin. If you chin turns yellow then apparently you like butter. Even though buttercup flowers are very pretty, they are poisonous. Buttercup flowers cause a skin irritant. That is the reason why when you put a buttercup up to your chin, your chin turns yellow.
