Hot Pockets

Hot pockets are small half circle shaped pizza. They are called hot pockets because you cook them in the microwave and they come out boiling hot. You have to be very careful when eating them because hot pockets have been known to burn tongues.
What makes hot pockets so popular is that fact that they are so easy to make and that they taste so good too. Hot pockets are usually filled with a tomato sauce, cheese and meat. You can use any kind of meat such as pepperoni, bacon, beef, chicken.
It would be very easy to make your own hot pockets and that way you can put whatever filling you would like in it. You could have everyone in the family create their own hot pockets and mark their initials in the dough so they will know which one was theirs. It would be a fun, family night together.
I do like hot pockets but the one thing I don't like about them is the fact that they are so hot. I've had my tongue burned several times trying to eat a hot pocket. I get too impatient to wait for them to cool down and I want to eat them right away and who could resist the smell of a hot pocket anyway because they smell so good. My favourite hot pocket is the one with cheese and pepperoni in it.

ethel smith, thank you for your comment. Hot pockets are worth the try but just be careful because they are "hot".

hi Koby, thank you for your comment. I have never made my own hot pocket but all you would need to do is to make some dough, cut the dough to shape. Have some of your favourite fillings on hand like cheese, meat, tomato sauce and chopped up vegetables. Lay the bottom piece of the dough on a cookie sheet, spread some tomato sauce on it, put some meat and cheese and vegetables on it and seal it with the top piece of dough. You could fold the edges over to seal it or press it down with a fork or use an egg wash. Bake at 350 til golden brown. You would want to be very careful biting it a hot pocket fresh out of the oven though because it would burn your tongue.

Be careful I severely burned my top lip one time biting into one. It took a few months to heal properly. I found it's better to tear pieces off and eat it that way (without burning your fingers on the oozing filling) so that you don't burn your lip or tongue.
Ouch, thank you for your comment and also thank you for your warning. I am sure many of us could have avoided getting burnt by doing what you have suggested.
