I Do Not Like Being Cold

Being cold has to be one of the most frightening feelings to have. Cold running through my veins seems to go to every inch of my body and when my body gets cold, it is very hard to get it warmed back up again.

I know that when my feet get cold the rest of me will feel shivery as well. I always wear socks on my feet. You will never catch me without them even in the summer months. I also wear slippers on my feet in the winter.

I have restless leg syndrome and I think this is why it bothers me so much when my feet get cold. It is usually just my right foot that seems to get cold, too. When I get tired, my restless leg syndrome acts up. It feels like that are tiny needles and pins being stuck in my feet. They feel itchy and are just bothersome. I can't stand to have anyone touch my feet either. I think the restless leg syndrome also contributes to me having cold feet.

I notice too, that if I get a chill in my back, then it almost feels like I have a bad cold. I have to be very careful to make sure my back stays warm because I have had a lot of problems with my back. I always dress warm and try to stay warm.

I do find that the cold where I am livng right now, in Kamloops, BC, is not like the cold where I came from, in Ontario. The cold here is a dry cold and there is no humidity in it. The humidity does a number on me. I can't stand being humid. I love the dry air out here. I find that I can withstand colder temperatures better because it really doesn't feel as cold.
