Rains

Do you live in an area that needs rain or are you in a flooded area?

I live in Kamloops, BC, which is located at the northern section of the Okanagan Valley. The Okanagan Valley is Canada's only desert area. Therefore, I live in an area that needs rain.

The Okanagan Valley is like Canada's best kept secret because I, for one, did not know Canada had a desert and I was born and raised in Canada. I am a Canadian.

I found out about the Okanagan Valley when I took a trip out west in 1998. I had never been out west before and I always wanted to go. I had heard about the vast prairies and the massive mountains of the Rockies.

Once I saw western Canada, I fell in love with it. I fell in love with the prairies. I fell in love with the Rockies and I fell in love with the Okanagan Valley. I fell in love with Canada's only desert. I fell in love with the hot, dry summer weather. I fell in love with it so much that I moved here four years ago.

dwilliamson, I agree Canada is beautiful and vast. There is so much to discover and love about this wonderful land. I hope to do another road trip to western Canada. Maybe we'll fly out to Vancouver and drive back to Toronto.

Take care.

That would be an awesome trip, DynamicS. I have driven that route 5 times in my life now and I absolutely love it.

Hey badcompany99, yes the Okanagan Valley sure is pretty. I live in the north end of it. In order to get all that green that is in that photo, a lot of irrigation takes place. It is really hot and dry here throughout the summer.

Beautiful shots. I've never been that way.

How do you get people to read your stories. I'd take any suggestions.

Hi ronibgood, thank you for your comment. I'm not sure if by stories you are talking about my hubs here or my children's stories that I write. I am assuming that you are talking about my children's stories. To get people to read my stories, I write a blog each day that features one of my children's stories on it. I post this blog to ten or so sites each day. I get a lot of hits to my stories through this. I also get a lot of hits through the search engines. My main website that has all my stories on it has been on the internet now for over 10 years. I also have a lot of really good quality backlinks to my site now because of the length of time it has been on the internet.
