The Rocky Mountains

Driving west through the prairies of Canada, you are not prepared for the beauty and majestic sight that is up ahead. You are awestruck and tongue-tied. As you just start leaving the prairies, on the horizon you can barely see them. You aren't sure if they are a cloud but they don't quite look like a cloud. What you are looking at is the Rocky Mountains, the Rocky Mountains Canada.

Starting just outside of Lethbridge, Alberta, the peaks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains appear on the horizon. You drive closer and the peaks get bigger, jutting upward into the sky and what do you see next. Is that snow? Yes, you can see the snow-capped glaciers.

Beside the snow-capped glaciers is the bluest, clearest little lake. Never in your life will see water that blue and that clear.The lake is fed from the snow-capped glacier and is the purest, cleanest water that I have ever seen.

You keep driving, in absolute awe of each and every turn you make. Before you know it, you are driving right in the mountains. You look out and you can see the tops of trees down below. You can see the river winding through the trees below you. I am not talking a few feet below you, I'm talking hundred's of feet. While driving through the Rocky Mountains, you begin to realize how unsignificant you are, how small you are in this world. Cars and trains in the valley's look like ants. At some points, you are driving above the clouds.

Not only is the scenery spectacular, the wildlife is truly amazing. Mountain sheep dot the highways, bald eagles soar the air around you and grizzly bears walk the sides of the highways.

The Rocky Mountains are a definite sight to see, a sight to cherish, a sight to remember forever.
