Hi everyone! This is Travellin' Rick. I've got some great photographs to share with you for the month of May, 2009. May was a fun month for me. Camping and finches and bears. Oh did I say bears. Oh yes, my camping trip on May 24, 2009, one I will never forget.

On May 17, 2009, I saw several paragliders gliding through the air. The two pictures below of the paragliders do show a crow sitting at the top of the tree. I wonder if he was watching the paragliders too. I see this quite often because I do live right near the Kamloops Airport. I also see several jets and helicopters too. I like living close to the airport but I do hope that an airplane never crashes near here.

On May 20, 2009, I went camping at a free campsite in BC. I went to Pass Lake. Pass Lake is on a Forest Service Road. There is a really nice lake there. I saw quite a few different birds here at Pass Lake too. The first day I was there it actually was hailing and raining.

On May 22, 2009, I saw a yellow finch sitting on my fence. I have seen him several times this year and was so glad I was able to get a picture of him. He's a very handsome bird.

On May 24, 2009, I went camping again at Pass Lake, BC and this time I was chased out by a black bear. I saw him down by the lake and he just stood and stared at me and then he went around the back of my truck area and up around the outhouse where I saw him again. Someone in the campground had tried to scare him away with a gunshot but it didn't work. For some reason that bear wasn't scared. I've heard that bears that aren't scared are the ones to watch out for.
