Would You Want To Live To Be 100 ?

I have always said that I would like to live to be 99 years old but that is as far as I would like to go. That one extra year seems to be just a little too much. I think I would like the idea of being 99 years old but not 100. 100 is pretty old.

I have quite a bit of time before I have to worry about being that anyway. I haven't even hit 50 yet. Turning 99 years old even seems so far away right now.

My grandmother, who I take after, is going to be 97 years old this October. Now, she has always told me that she wants to live to be as old as the Queen's Mother. The Queen's Mother was 101 when she died and knowing my Grandmother she will probably reach at least 102.

My Grandmother is a very determined and stubborn lady. Gee, now I know where I get that stubborn streak from, hee hee. She worked hard at raising a set of twins and two other children, plus working at Eaton's department store in downtown Toronto. She never smoked or drank and that could be what is contributing to her long-life. When she was younger, she was always very active, going for walks or swimming. She is a special lady and I sure do love her very much.
